SMRITT stands for SM Rosales Intermodal Transport Terminal. It was created by enabling ordinance (Cdr. No. 06-2013, enacted by the 8th Sangguniang Bayan of Rosales, Pangasinan and with a corresponding SB Resolution authorizing the Municipal Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with SM Prime Holdings, Inc. pertaining “to the establishment, operation and management of the SMRITT- to set the stage for its establishment and to clearly define terms and conditions pertaining thereof.”

So, last October 31, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. at the Presidencia Building Hall of Rosales, Pangasinan became a historic date and a momentous hour for the classic success of a government- private sectors’s cooperative economic venture, a partnership scheme conformably with the investment policy of the government underlying the Public-Private Partnership principle. This has become a glaring reality as far as the Rosales LGU and SM City’s regulated, business-run transport terminal system is concerned, For on said date and hour has finally arrived the moment of truth- the glory that was PPP-its fruition into reality- the eventual signing of the said MOA by and between LGU Rosales and SM Prime Holdings, Incorporated.

Arriving in full force for the signing and to represent SM Prime Holdings were Engr. Bien C. Mateo (who sign in behalf of SMPHI), Mr. Cesar P. Bondoc, Regional Operations Manager; Atty. Melisa Lingat, Legal Officer; Engr. Jersey Y. Mendoza, Mall Manager; Ms. Jerrylyn R. Jiminez, Mall Secretary and Ms. Romyrose Dela Cruz, Assistant Operations Officer.

Signing in behalf of LGU Rosales was our very own Municipal Mayor Susan Pagador-Casareno in the presence of Vice Mayor Harry Bernabe’s Private Secretary Mrs. Corpuz and Sangguniang bayan members Leon C. Licudo, JR., Rey Oligan, Romy Sim and Manolo Quiambao and this writer.
